The Ultimate Magnetic Target...
Many early magnetic sources used in the HDD industry generated DC (constant) magnetic fields. In a magnetically "quiet" environment, these sources work very well, but in a magnetically "noisy" environment, especially in the vicinity of time-varying magnetic interference, the use of magnetic sources that generate AC (cyclically varying) magnetic fields are indicated.
The Rotating Magnet Source, developed by Vector Magnetics, together with its proprietary signal processing software, gives unparalled precision in magnetic guidance for a wide variety of applications.
The addition of this non-wire based magnetic source allows a better approach accuracy for intersecting another bore by developing a known magnetic field down hole to act as the target for final intersect drilling.
